Non-Traditional Programs

One example of non-traditional nursing education is for those individuals who already have a college degree and now wish to pursue a nursing career. There are several "bridge" programs that will allow you to earn either a BSN or a MSN.

Another form of non-traditional nursing education is on-line learning. This educational format is often very attractive to nurses who already have their RN license and now wish to pursue additional education. Online programs may consist of very limited formal classroom time but offer coursework in an on-line (Internet) format and student/faculty networking to assist in completing course requirements.

Here's some information on financing your education.

On Line Programs
While many of the colleges and univerisities in Tennessee offer online courses, check with the school of your choice to see if the courses you need are available online!

The RODP offers a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) for those individuals who already have a Baccalaureate degree in Nursing.
