4-year or Baccalaureate Degree Programs

Four-year or Baccalaureate degree programs in nursing are offered by colleges and universities. These degree programs are for students who want a BSN (Bachelor of Science in Nursing) but who do not already have an RN license. The typical course of study includes general education requirements (i.e., English, History, Biology, Chemistry, Arts) in addition to nursing courses (Pharmacology, Anatomy and Physiology, Medical-Surgical nursing, Mental Health nursing, to name a few). Some colleges offer a 1 to 2 year "Second Degree" program (for students who already have a bachelor's degree in another field). Here's some information on financing your education.
